Mrs. Ruffino's Algebra 1 students were hard at work collaborating to solve shape puzzles that required strong reasoning and teamwork! By analyzing relationships between shapes, students represented and solved systems of equations in a visual, engaging way. Through discussion, perseverance, and shared problem-solving, students deepened their understanding while building confidence in their mathematical thinking. We are so proud of the collaboration, communication, and critical thinking happening in the classroom! #truenorthbrunswick

Last week, NBTHS students were invited up on stage at the Harlem Fine Arts Show in NYC!

12 clubs and groups took part this week in the annual Suzan Ezdinli Valentines Market in the NBTHS Commons. It was a smashing success! #truenorthbrunswick

Students were hard at work in Mrs. Ruffino and Mrs. Flesta's CP Algebra 1 classes today! Together they collaborated in small groups as they tackled varying levels of systems of equations at the whiteboards around the room. Each group rotated through meaningful roles—recorder, calculator/computation specialist, and communicator—to ensure every voice was heard and every idea mattered.
We are so proud of the productive discussions, strong connections made, and the perseverance shown. Way to think, collaborate, and problem-solve! #truenorthbrunswick

1. For two weeks in January, we were home to an exhibit called "Revolutionary Lives" from the NJ Dept of Education. This is partly due to the status of NBTHS as a "Revolutionary School" in the RevNJ program celebrating our nation's 250th anniversary. Special thanks to Mr. Smutko, Mr. Ojeda, Ms. DePasquale, and Mr. Totten. who make up our Semiquincentennial Committee and created curricular material to use with the exhibit for all of our sophomore students. Check out some of tour students and staff who crossed the Delaware with George Washington!
2. Last Friday, over 250 of our junior students participated in the "RU Ready Civics Fair" in the MRC. This was done in conjunction with students and staff from the Eagleton Institute at Rutgers University. Our students did a wonderful job as they learned lessons about being an informed and active citizen.

The NBTHS Speech & Debate Club attended NJ's largest high school debate tournament of the year at Ridge High School, where they competed against almost 1,000 other debaters from four states. Eight NBTHS debaters have now qualified for the district tournaments that will begin at the end of February. They will compete for the chance to represent NJ at the national tournament. Congratulations to these students! #truenorthbrunswick
