Spanish CP II



Course Description

CP Spanish II continues the work begun in CP Spanish I.  Students will build upon level I basic skills in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing and will explore vocabulary and grammatical structures appropriate to a second year language course.


Course Proficiencies

 Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:


  • Communicate and interact in a variety of task-oriented and social situations in Spanish.
  • Sustain intermediate level conversations in Spanish on a number of different topics.
  • Express themselves in written Spanish on a number of different topics.
  • Comprehend and discuss the content of selected written, oral, and visual materials in Spanish.
  • Demonstrate comprehension and mastery of introduced grammatical structures, vocabulary, and idiomatic expressions.
  • Demonstrate comprehension and mastery of selected cultural topics dealing with people, places, and events in the Spanish speaking world.


Course Requirements


Students will be expected to:

  • Attend class regularly and be on time. 
  • Bring necessary supplies to class.
  • Complete all in class and homework assignments.


  • Make-up all work after any absence within a deadline established by school policy.
  • Maintain a high degree of class participation and preparation.
  • Demonstrate a cooperative attitude and contribute to the learning process of the class.


Evaluation Procedures 

Marking period grades will be assigned quarterly and will be determined by the following:


  • Class Participation/Graded classwork.           25%
  • Homework (2/week)                                        20%
  • Quizzes (weekly)/Projects (one/MP 1-3)         25%
  • Tests (2CA/MP)                                               30%
