Integrated Computer Applications:

This course is designed to teach students software applications that are necessary to live and work in a technological society. The applications covered include Microsoft Word, Excel Spreadsheets, PowerPoint Presentations, & Publications. Other content areas may include computer hardware, terminology, concepts & formatting. 


Course Competencies/ Learning Objectives:

Students who successfully complete Integrated Computer Applications will be competent in the following areas:

  • Identify and implement effective internet searching techniques.

  • Identify valid and reliable internet resources.

  • Create proper Word documents and PowerPoint presentations.

  • Understand and identify important Word and PowerPoint functions.

  • Demonstrate effective editing techniques.

  • Create an effective spreadsheet

  • Create publishings

Grades Scale:

A- 89.5% and above

B- 79.5 -89.4%

C- 69.5- 79.4%

D- 59.5-69.4%

F- Below 59.4%

Tests / Major Projects - 50%

Quizzes / Small Projects - 30%

Participation / Class Assignments - 20%


Late Work Policy:

*Late work due to absences will be graded in accordance with school policy

*Make-up work is the students responsibility

*Assignments will be accepted 1 day late for up to 90% credit, 2 days late for up to 80% credit and 3 days late for 70% credit. Any late work greater than 3 days will result in 1/2 credit. Once a Chapter/Unit is completed, late work will no longer be accepted for that particular section.
