Summer Reading

Summer reading promotes reading for pleasure, helps students develop into lifelong readers, and maintains students’ reading skills (Cornish, 2003). It is estimated that school summer breaks will cause the average student to lose up to one month of instruction. When kids read over the summer they are more likely to leap ahead when they return to school. This is often called the “summer leap” and we’ve made it a priority to keep your child’s skills sharp by encouraging them to read all summer long. Read more
